The Burlington Northern's car COLUMBIA RIVER originally came from the Soo Line via the Great Northern, which had numbered this car the A-2.

The car LAUREL RIDGE, built for U. S. Steel by Pullman-Standard in 1949 was given the new name MOUNTAINAIR when sold to the Santa Fe in 1962.
The Milwaukee Road built its cars MILWAUKEE and WISCONSIN in company shops in 1948. Three years later, Rio Grande lightweight chair car 1240 was rebuilt to that railroad's business car WILSON McCARTHY.
